Changing world

Vishakha, the little girl of four years who stays in Bangalore had come to my village for vacation with her parents. She was playing alone with some colourful cards. I was curious and went near her to see what she is playing with. She had 26 cards, each card with an alphabet, a word beginning with that alphabet and an appropriate picture for that word.

I just took a look at those cards. Alphabet ‘A’ had and Apple and ‘B’ had a Bat. For ‘C’ I expected a Cat but to all my surprise, it showed a Car! I still remember my school days... when we studied, 'C' showed a Cat because cats were more and cars were rare. But in these days, when cats are rare and cars are everywhere, what else can we expect? If she had a card with Cat in it, her mother would have struggled to show her a cat in Bangalore and now she can easily show a car!

I told to myself, ‘stupid lady, where are you? The world is moving very fast and in a different direction than what you think.’ I wish there will not come a day with cards A for Alcohol, B for Beer, C for Cheese, … P for Pizza,… W for Wine…

That list you mentioned at the end has already come. I'll forward that when I get a chance.
